Run 1, 2 & 3 in The E24 JPS

Run 1, 2 & 3 in The E24 JPS

Our first run was at Eastern Creek for the Sydney Retro Fest and it was a successful first race meeting for the car with no major issues.

The alternator failed due to not having an earth strap connected on a rubber mounted alternator and we had a lot of suspension tuning to be done.

We didn’t place well as the event was used as a shake down only and learn to drive the car.

We completed all four races and finished 5th

The second run was Eastern Creek for the Sydney Muscle Car Masters and it was another successful event.

The fuel mixtures started to become a problem and we still worked hard on getting the suspension setting closer to speed.

We found out that the faster you go, the hotter the gearbox and diff gets.

The diff temperatures reached the maximum on the gauge at 170 degrees, and the gearbox was not far behind it at 150 degrees, so coolers needed.

We ended the meeting in third place, which was very unexpected but very happy to receive a trophy.

We completed all four races.

The third run was at Sandown in Victoria in much cooler conditions.

This run was a disaster as the fuel mixture fault finally reared its ugly head and we could not set a safe level to go hard.

We battled through the weekend mid field and I don’t know where we ended up. We were just happy to finish.

We completed all four races.
